The innovative TI-Nspire™ CAS handheld learning device and the
allied software from Texas Instruments are designed to generate opportunities
for classroom exploration and to promote understanding for learners (and
their teachers!). This unique opportunity to exploit multiple linked
representations allows the investigation of a wide range of topics in the
maths and science classroom The CAS version allows the manipulation
of mathematical expressions and functions in addition to the features of
the non-CAS version.
CAS (Computer Algebra System) for algebra, calculus and matrix algebra
which enables manipulation of mathematical expressions and functions. Includes
symbolic Algebra, Symbolic Calculus, Symbolic Linear Differential Equations,
Symbolic Equation Solver, Symbolic Units of Measure and Constants.
Five different representations share data using various layouts and formats:
Algebraic representation appears in the Calculator and the Graphs & Geometry
option
Numerical representation comes in the Calculator and List & Spreadsheets
option
Statistical representation are demonstrated by the Calculator, Lists & Spreadsheets
and Data & Statistics
Written representation from the Notes option to set and record problems
Graphical and geometric representation from the Graphs & Geometry
option
View the same user interface (menus, icons and navigation) on the TI-Nspire
handheld device and TI-Nspire software to allow integration with Interactive
Whiteboard presentations whilst offering a personalised learning solution
for students.

from the TI-NSpire.
TI-Nspire™ CAS Computer Software (Supplied Separately)
TI-Nspire™ CAS Computer Software for Maths and Science is the software
component with the same functionalities as the TI-Nspire™ CAS handheld
learning device. Thanks to TI-Nspire™ CAS Software, seamless creation
and transition of classroom materials between teacher and learner is possible:
Teachers can use the computer software to create materials for learners
using handheld devices or computers.
Learners can easily transfer their work between the handheld device and
the computer and pass it to the teachers for assessment – Assessment
for Learning in action!
